My career plan as an exchange student at NUAA
Hi, my name is Audrey and since I traveled to China as an exchange student to study at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics for a semester, the question of my future and what I want to do has been on my mind. But after spending time traveling, discovering a new culture and new perspectives, and talking with international students, I'm starting to get a clearer idea of what I want to do professionally.
Before coming to China, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I entered business school almost two years ago to keep my options opened for the future. However, my experience at NUAA gradually helps me understand what I enjoy and would like to continue doing. I realized that living in a country with such a large and dynamic economy is something very inspiring and different from my home country, France.
Courses at NUAA allow me to study theory, but also practice through case studies or simulations and group projects in courses such as microeconomics, accounting or international business. This allowed me to develop my critical thinking skills and adapt to different situations and different environments, but also to communicate effectively with my classmates from all over the world. It also giving me the chance to understand and study the cultural and economic factors that can influence business decisions, knowledge that is essential in understanding the connections between countries and their evolutions.
In addition to the academic rigor of which NUAA is known, what I particularly enjoy and what makes the school stand out, is the investment and support of the professors. They are always available and willing to help and answer questions, whether they are on academic or professional matters. This support gives me confidence in my ambitions and helps me on a daily basis.
It is thanks to all these elements that I have begun to figure out a bit more about the direct I would like to take for the future and the path I would like to follow. I would like to pursue my degree in International Business, while trying to travel as much as possible to discover the culture and perspectives of different countries. This way, I could build a career in global strategy or management consulting, ideally working for a multinational company. My goal is to help companies expand into new horizons while integrating new business practices.
I remain open to the idea of working in China, for its dynamic economy, and because I feel at home here. I am sure experiences and connections I've made at NUAA will help me in my future career.
This semester of study abroad allowed me to grow, both personally and academically, and helped me see more clearly on what I want for my future. It is an enriching experience that I will never forget.
I'm deeply grateful to NUAA for this opportunity and for allowing me to live this lifechanging adventure.
And you, what is your future professional project?
