My Journey as an International Student at NUAA: Chasing Dreams from Bangladesh
Hello, NUAA Community! I'm Abir, a regular man from Bangladesh who's absolutely loving his life as an aeronautical engineering student here at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. I thought I’d sit down and chat with you all about my career dreams and what’s been shaping me into the person I hope to be one day.
Honestly, being at NUAA feels like a dream come true, and I’d love to share that with you—maybe even convince a few of you to join this awesome crew! After I finish my degree, I’m daydreaming about landing a gig with a big aerospace name like Airbus, Boeing, or even COMAC right here in China. I’d like to be an aircraft design engineer, working on planes that don’t wreck the planet.
NUAA’s been a total game-changer for me, especially since things back in Bangladesh were a bit limited when it came to fancy engineering stuff. These labs and wind tunnels? They literally blow my mind! It felt like I was deciphering a secret code of the skies, something I could only dream about back home, and I will never forget the first time I saw airflow patterns swirling during a session. Like mentors, the professors constantly encourage us to think creatively and approach real-world issues, which I know will make me stand out when I begin my job search. And those hiring fairs where more than 2,000 businesses were present? I'm already excited about the prospect of meeting people who could launch my career—something I never would have discovered in Bangladesh!
Living here as an international student has been a rollercoaster, but the best kind. I’ve made the coolest friends from Nepal, Nigeria, and all over—we swap stories over late-night snacks, me rambling about Dhaka’s chaotic streets or monsoon floods, them sharing their own tales. It’s brought us so close. Adjusting to Nanjing life, fumbling through Mandarin, and figuring out this new culture have been a challenge, but they’ve made me tougher and more open than I ever was back home. NUAA’s global vibe, being a top dog in aerospace with projects like drones and the AG600, makes me feel like I’m part of something epic—way beyond what I could’ve imagined in Bangladesh.
I get going too from the sports scene here! Supporting our basketball, badminton, and swimming teams as they travel the globe reminds me to keep going—a nice variation from the small-scale events I knew growing up. NUAA feels like a whole different universe—better gear, a mix of cultures, and a real chance at a bright future—than Bangladesh. If you’re thinking of joining us, here’s the scoop: you’ll get a top-notch education, a crew that feels like family, and chances to grow like crazy. Coming from Bangladesh, I can tell you it’s a massive leap—better resources, global connections, and a path to my dreams.NUAA’s the spot to build a good life, so come on over and let’s soar together!
